東京インターハイスクールでは、単位の取り方がとてもユニークです。
通常の高校では、授業に出席しテストをパスし単位取得ということになりますが、
当校では、
１．学習時間を達成している（１５０時間／１単位）
２．目標を達成している
３．（学習時間に見合う）成果物の提出が準備できている
の条件が揃うと単位取得の申請ができます。
ちなみに、「目標」とは、生徒本人が学習コーチと決めり学習目標です。
例えば、実務学＝アルバイトを単位とするときは、
「仕事を後輩に教えられるようになる」といった具合です。
無目的に決められたテキストや問題集をやるのではなく、
何を学習するか？
どう学習するか？
何を使って学習するか？
は全て生徒本人に委ねられています。
もちろん、わからないとき、やる気が出ないとき、困ったとき…
そんなときはいつでも担当の学習コーチに相談したり、
教科ごとのワークショップ（グループ学習）でも自由に聞くことができます"
個人学習の良し悪しはありますが、
「何を学習するか、何を学習目標とするか、自分自身で考えること」
「自分で決めたことを最後までやり遂げること」
という学習方法は、〝自立した学び"を身につける上で、
非常に重要な経験になると私たちは考えています。

The acquisition of credits in Tokyo Inter-High School is very unique. In a regular high school, students would obtain credits by taking by attending classes and passing exams, but in our school:
1. Completing 150 hours of study for 1 credit
2. Accomplish an objective
3. Preparing a final work (in time)
are the conditions that students are required to respect in order to receive credits for their graduation.
By the way, the “objective” is a studying plan set by the student himself and his learning coach.
For example if the Occupational Education theme is “part-time job”, the objective would be
“to become able to teach to junior staff”.
Students don’t use random textbooks or problem collections books,
“What do I learn?”
“How do I learn?”
“What do I use to learn?”
are the questions they must answer by themselves.
Of course, when they don’t know, are confused or poorly motivated,
they can talk with their personal Learning Coach and/or meet them
directly at school during workshops (group learning).
Here is what individual learning is about:
“What to study and how is what student is must decide alone”
“Do what you decided to do until you accomplish it”
We think that this learning style allows students to acquire an “Independent Learning” aptitude, as well as an extremely important experience at the same time.
